Federico De Majo"...yet this job is hardship, sweat and tension. You can never get away, far from it; the group requires the everybody’s continuous attention. But it is pure joy to be in furnace at dawn, to see the dance begin to the warm music of the glass pot, to be next to these jugglers, to share the desire to realize our thoughts. Thank you unknown artists, your glass is our happiness."
The Tradition of Glass
A wineglass declaims, develops and fully complements the liquid it holds - and it is also a work of art.
The work of Federico de Majo draws inspiration from the visual and the most traditional of lines to other with a singularly technical content, reflecting an enthusiasm for innovation and research.

Wine culture
Wine is a part of the Italian tradition. And the same is true of glass.
Two symbols of italian culture brought togheter in Zafferano wine glasses, created by a Venetian designer.
Wine certainly plays a quasi-ambassadorial role in italy's relationship with the world at large.

A story from Venice, Italy
Zafferano brings together the art of glass-maker and the culture of wine.
The story of Federico de Majo has its beginnings in the family business on the island of Murano. It was here,in the mid-1970s, that Federico de Majo began, and artistic glass generally. Thereafter, a feeling for the importance and enjoyment of good wine led him to set up a company dedicated to the design and production of tasting glasses.

Glasses of the Zafferano collection are mouth blow and hand crafted by skilled workers using age-old techniques.
Every item turned out by this craft-based method in unique. No two puieces are exactly alike, and for this very reason they are alla the more valuable.
The characteristic logo showing a glass with the "Z" of Zafferano inscribed in its outline certifies that the product is hand made.
