Two days to promote the culinary tradition and food and wine products of the Ampezzo area: this is The Queen of Taste, the festival that has been held for four years in the city of Cortina d'Ampezzo, the undisputed queen of the Dolomites.
Organized by the association Cortina For Us, together with Chef Team Cortina, (10 Chefs with different culinary experiences and cultures, all of great value) the event encompass two main events: the StrEat Chef and the StrEat Lunch - both characterized by combination of the concepts "street" and "eat"; the novelty of this edition will be the QOT 2.0: a web series will show a chef from Ampezzo who will cook a dish of local cuisine together with a VIP guest, within everyone's reach and therefore replicable by the public.
While the StrEat Chef on Saturday offers a journey of flavours by shuttle (calling at Baita Fraina, Villa Oretta, Lago Scin, Pasticceria Alverà), the StrEat Lunch on Sunday is a an exclusive lunch, with limited places, held on a large communal table set up in Corso Italia, and enriched with Zafferano products. This year's menu will be saffron-themed, and will include dishes prepared by the Chefs of Villa Oretta, Rio Gere, Baita Fraina, Tivoli and the Ristorante da Aurelio, matched with wines selected by Michel Oberhammer, patron of La Cave.
Cortina For Us is a non-profit association made up of local traders, entrepreneurs and artisans, united since 2014 in the desire to conceive and organize events to promote the Queen of the Dolomites.
