25 Years of Zafferano
When Light and Color Transform Everyday Life
There is a color that tells a story. It is the vibrant red of saffron threads: the color of happiness, conviviality, and joy. And for the past 25 years, the color of Zafferano.

In 2026, Zafferano celebrates its 25th anniversary: a milestone that reflects a journey of growth, evolution, and continuous design research. Founded in 2001 by Federico de Majo, the company was born from deep-rooted experience in the world of glass and initially developed within the Ho.Re.Ca. sector, where every object must respond to real needs in terms of use, functionality, and durability.
From the very beginning, function has been the starting point of every project: creating products that are useful, accessible, and long-lasting, while also capable of generating emotion and making everyday life more enjoyable. Over time, this approach evolved into a recognizable language shaped by light, color, conviviality, and attention to the user experience.

What began with distinctive drinking glasses gradually evolved into a broader universe that today includes tableware, lighting, and above all cordless and rechargeable lamps.

Within this journey, the portable Poldina lamp, introduced in 2018, represents a defining moment: originally created for the hospitality sector, it quickly became a recognizable and versatile object, helping redefine the way people experience light in everyday spaces.
Today, cordless lamps represent the heart of the company: solutions designed to bring light wherever it is needed, with freedom, simplicity, and ease of use. A contemporary way of interpreting light, always consistent with Zafferano’s identity and its attention to material quality, detail, and versatility.
