On 20 October 2026, the first pop-up store entirely dedicated to Poldina, Zafferano’s original portable lamp, opens at Rome Termini. It has been created in partnership with Grandi Stazioni Retail and Retail Group.
In the heart of Italy’s busiest railway station, a daily crossroads for hundreds of thousands of travellers, Poldina presents its extraordinary range, with more than 40 variants celebrating its iconic design, its versatility and its explosion of colour.
The space stands out for its colourful setting, defined by pure geometric shapes and large arches framing the windows. The arches recall the portico, a typical feature of Italian architecture and long a place for meeting and convivial moments in the open air. The displays tell stories of everyday life - an aperitivo with friends, a family dinner, a conversation for two - in which Poldina naturally finds its place, lighting up the space and enhancing the pleasure of being together.
At the heart of the project lies the idea of authenticity, in two senses. The authenticity of Poldina, an original Zafferano creation and the pioneer of a new category of lighting that has revolutionised the way we experience light. And the authenticity of human relationships, spontaneous conversations and real connections, which come to life around a table, away from screens and digital distractions.
This is the spirit of “The Joy of Living Unplugged”: an invitation to rediscover the beauty of shared moments, genuine relationships and the pleasure of being truly present. A philosophy that finds its natural expression in Poldina: a light free from wires, which accompanies people and illuminates the truest connections.
Over the coming months, the pop-up will be refreshed with displays and ideas for special occasions, from Christmas to Valentine’s Day, making Poldina an original gift to discover and take with you, even between one journey and the next.
