Lines, combinations, flavours and transparencies. Business culture in the lands of Alpe-Adria” is the main theme of the three-day event of meetings, show cooking and tastings that will bring together seven brands from Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Slovenia and Istria at the Itlas Flagship Store space in Milan on 7-8-9 October. We decided to take part in this original business network concept intended to promote the cultural and historical heritage of the large Alpe-Adria region. The initiative is included in the programme of Milano Wine Week (6-13 October #MWW) the event that celebrates excellent Italian wines.

Leading this project is the winery “La Vigna di Sarah” based in Vittorio Veneto (TV), headed by the young wine entrepreneur Sarah Dei Tos, who makes organic Prosecco Superiore DOCG in the vine-covered hills of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. For this project, Sarah has joined Zafferano and other prestigious companies: Itlas of Cordignano (TV) founded by Patrizio Dei Tos, a leading Italian producer of pre-finished wooden floors; Electrolux Professional of Pordenone, a producer of hi-tech kitchen, coffee&beverage and professional laundry solutions; Amorim Cork Italia of Conegliano (TV), an Italian subsidiary of the Portuguese Amorim Group, a leader in the production and sale of cork stoppers; Mate extra-virgin olive oil, an excellent Istria-based producer of organic olive oil of Zambrattia (HR), founded by Mate Vekic and now overseen by his daughter Aleksandra; and the Slovenian chef Tomaž Kavčič of the Pri Lojzetu restaurant in Zemono. These brands all share the same concepts of environmental sustainability, the pursuit of innovative design, the social value of conducting business and a greener vision of the future. Participation at this event is by invitation.

From Monday 7 to Wednesday 9 October, companies and entrepreneurs will be presenting themselves to the public at Milano Wine Week on various occasions to meet and describe how business culture has developed in the lands of the Alpe-Adria region. A centuries-old history of genius and hard work oriented towards the future.

On Wednesday 9 October, the scheduled events will include the theme of culinary and cultural “Contaminations”, focusing on Venice – the heart of the Alpe-Adria region – exploring past and present, “bacari” (small bars serving typical local small bites) and Jewish cuisine. The key players will be: the Venetian Federico de Majo, whose creations are the modern expression of ancient and artistic Murano glassmaking techniques; Anna Maria Pellegrino, a chef, lecturer, author and food blogger (President of the AIFB), a native of Venice and narrator of extraordinary cooking experiences; Alessandro Polver, of Electrolux Chef Academy, who will prepare a dish of “Risotto dell’Alpe Adria” live and talk to Pellegrino, describing the culture of rice in Veneto and Lombardy.
